A short glossary for Suno creators finishing tracks. Each term is a plain definition you can quote, then a note on how it shows up in Planetary tools.
Suno mastering
Suno mastering is the final audio-finishing step for a Suno export. It shapes tone, dynamics, loudness, stereo translation, and clarity with common AI-export artifacts in mind, then delivers a high-quality WAV.
See AI Music Mastering and the mastering guide.
Standard mastering
Standard mastering processes the full stereo mix in one pass. A complete Standard master costs $7.00 and returns one complete 24-bit WAV after a successful balance charge.
Ultra stem-split mastering
Ultra separates voice from music, cleans each path, then recombines one master. It is always paid (never a free trial). See Standard vs Ultra.
AI audio artifact
An unwanted fingerprint common in AI generations: harsh highs, muddy low mids, soft drums, synthetic vocals, section loudness jumps, or unstable stereo. Map symptoms in Suno audio artifacts explained.
LUFS and streaming loudness
Spotify publishes -14 dB LUFS for its Normal playback setting. Apple and YouTube do not publish one universal LUFS upload target in their general delivery guidance. Playback normalization is context, not an upload requirement; master for the song and leave true-peak headroom.
True peak (dBTP)
True peak estimates inter-sample peaks after lossy encoding. Leaving about -1 dBTP headroom is a common conservative delivery starting point.
Style prompt
The Style (or similar) field in Suno for genre, mood, tempo feel, instruments, and production character. Prefer focused phrases over long lists. Use the free prompt builder on the Suno Lyrics Generator.
Suno meta tags
Bracketed lyrics-box cues such as [Verse], [Chorus], [Male vocal], or [Beat drop] that steer structure and performance. Free reference: Suno meta tags.
Section tags
Structure meta tags that mark song form. Keep them on their own line before the section they control.
Stem split
Separating a mix into parts (for example voice and music) so each can be processed differently before recombination. Useful when vocal and instrumental problems need opposite treatments.
Release-ready WAV
A final high-quality WAV that has been QC checked for clips, mono fold-down, and headroom, ready for a distributor upload. Follow the Suno to Spotify checklist.
