Pitch your track

You came from Planetary Voltage — Rock & Alternative, so it goes on the pitch as your preference. The curator still decides which playlist the track fits.

Free. Up to three pitches a day.

Optional audio preparation

Give your track a cleaner finish

Production quality is part of playlist review, alongside the song, lane fit, and playlist flow. Reducing distracting hiss and balancing the mix can help listeners hear your music clearly. Choose the help your track needs; a finished mix may need no further processing.

Playlist pitching stays free. Buying a service never influences selection or review order. Use these tools before distributing your next release; existing pitches are reviewed from the released Spotify link you sent.

Questions before you pitch

Is playlist consideration free?

Yes. Pitching a track to a Planetary playlist costs nothing, and no payment, subscription, or purchase changes a decision. Selection is editorial: a curator places tracks that fit a specific playlist. There is no pay-for-placement tier and no paid review queue.

Can better audio quality help my playlist pitch?

Production quality is part of editorial review, alongside the song, lane fit, and playlist flow. Reducing distracting hiss and balancing a finished mix can make the music easier to hear clearly. Attach the same recording released at your Spotify link. Buying mastering, audio cleanup, or any other service never influences selection or review order, and processing a file does not update a release already on Spotify. Prepare the audio before distributing your next release.

How long does a playlist decision take?

Attach the exact released recording to enter review. You can track progress in your account. Pitches needing attention stay in the weekly queue. We email the decision; acceptance names a confirmed playlist placement. A pitch does not promise placement or written feedback.

Does a playlist placement mean I am signed to Planetary Records?

No. Placement does not indicate label affiliation. These playlists feature independent artists from across the music community. Label A&R is a separate path with its own demo form, and pitching a playlist never enters a track into label review.

What should I say about making the recording?

Describe your contribution to the arrangement, vocals, mixing, and mastering. Keep it brief and accurate. Confirm that you control the rights to the recording.

Can I choose which playlist my track goes on?

You choose the lane; the curator chooses the playlist. If you arrive from a playlist page, that playlist is recorded as your preference. The curator still decides where the track fits, or whether it fits this round at all.

How many tracks can I pitch?

Up to three pitches a day per email address, and one pitch per track. Sending the same track twice is rejected automatically. Pitch the release you would want a stranger to hear first rather than an entire catalog.
